One of our main goals is to educate FoCL Members, property owners, area businesses, and the general public visiting and playing on Clam Lake and the Chain of Lakes about issues that affect the health and beauty of our waters.
We contribute to events that educate area youth such as through the Annual Kids Fish Day sponsored by the Bellaire Conservation Club, and by contributing to the Antrim County Boaters Safety Classes. We are always on the search for worthwhile educational opportunities to donate to or partner with.
Because of the growing concerns about the impact wake boats are having on shoreline erosion, we worked with numerous other Lake Associations to develop rack cards that have been distributed to and displayed by Marinas and owners of Short-Term Rentals on the Lake. Information on the cards describe how the large waves from wake boats, especially on a small lake like Clam, and list recommendations for recreation with wake boats without damaging shorelines.

We also provide education this through newsletters, our Annual Meeting.
Our priority in 2026-2027 is to increase our collaboration with area lake associations and regional organizations focused on maintaining the health and beauty of our waters.
